FWFD investigating reports of shots fired at north side hotel

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (FORT WAYNE'S NBC) - Fort Wayne Police are trying to find out what led to shots being fired at a local hotel Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to the Travelodge by Wyndham Fort Wayne on the city's north side in the 5100 block of Challenger Parkway just after 8:00 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found multiple shell casings, Fort Wayne Police Department Sgt. Jeremy Webb said.

It's unknown if any shells hit the building, according to Webb.

Investigators said no one was injured.

The identity of who fired the shots was not immediately available.

No other information was made available.

The investigation is ongoing.
