Arrest made in hit & skip that left one woman dead back in August


FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, they have made an arrest in a fatal hit and skip that occurred in August.

Police say the incident happened around 9:15 p.m. as the 21-year old woman was walking across East State Boulevard from a residence.

Police say the tan SUV, which was headed west, hit her.

They say the driver of the vehicle continued to drive west away from the scene and did not stop.

With the help of the community, police were able to arrest 52-year-old Samuel Eugene Lovellette.

At this time no charges have been filed.
