Local beer distributor giving away Kayaks while promoting environmental cleanliness

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - A local company is holding a contest that promotes giving back to the environment and Wednesday is the last day to enter.

Five Star Distributing is wanting to ensure that rivers across Northeast Indiana stay clean.

They're giving away three kayaks in partnership with Fort Wayne Outfitters and all they ask is that you help keep rivers clean.

"We wanna help raise our community up whenever we can," Five Star's Joel Sluyter said. "It's important to give back and I think teaming up with Fort Wayne Outfitters shows our commitment."

Earlier this year, the company participated in a promotion with Molson Coors to benefit the St. Joe Watershed initiative.

Molson Coors donated 50 cents for every twelve pack of Coors Seltzers sold during May and June. They donated $7,500 to the initiative.

"I hope the winnersand the people that enter to win this contest show that businesses care about our community," Sluyter said. "I think that speaks a lot about Fort Wayne and Columbia City."

You must be 21 years old or older to enter the contest.

Five Star also wants to remind you to drink responsibly.
