FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - A 22-year-old man has been charged with felony murder and robbery stemming from a shooting late last year.
A probable cause affidavit shows that Korta Seon Thomas is accused of killing Hakeem Cage. The incident happened Dec. 2 along Ridgewood Drive.
Investigators say the victim's girlfriend heard footsteps approaching, then about five gunshots, followed by Cage falling to the ground.
Cash that Cage had on him was taken, according to court records.
A 17-year-old suspect -- Javon Thomas, Jr. -- was previously connected to the case and charged as an adult.
Korta and Javon Thomas are cousins, records indicate.
Documents show that Korta Thomas attended a party at a local hotel shortly before the shooting, and that Cage arrived at that party about midnight.
The shots were fired about four hours later, as Cage and his girlfriend were walking to an apartment.
Police said video that turned up during the investigation provided evidence pointing to Korta Thomas, who was interviewed on Dec. 22 and denied involvement, but terminated the conversation with detectives mid-interview.
