TOKYO (NBC News) --- U.S. gymnastics teams are preparing for the Tokyo Olympics.
The U.S. Women's Gymnastics Team participates in podium training Thursday afternoon at Ariake Gymnastics Center.
The team rotated through the four disciplines: floor, vault, uneven bars and balance beam, spending about 25 minutes at each.
The four team event members included Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee and Grace McCallum and were also joined by individual event participants Jade Carey and Mykayla Skinner.
Simone Biles practiced her historic new vault, a Yurchenko double pike. If she lands the vault in competition, it will be named after her.
The women's team qualifications begin right here on Fort Wayne's NBC News on Saturday evening here in the U.S.
Following will be the team finals on Tuesday morning.
