Early morning collision claims two lives in Etna Township

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - A two-vehicle collision claims two lives early Sunday morning.

Police responded to the intersection of US 30 and CR 875 W just after 2 a.m. Sunday to reports of an car accident.

When police arrived, they found one semi-tractor-trailer and a Mazda that had collided together.

According to preliminary results, the Mazda was traveling south on CR 875 W approaching US 30 when it failed to yield to the semi.

Police say the semi struck the Mazda's driver side door, killing the driver and its passenger.

The coroner's office pronounced the 32-year-old Marlin Fuentes Sr. of Goshen and 10-year-old Marlin Fuentes Jr. dead at the scene.

Police say the driver of the semi, 44-year-old Paul Banks of Michigan, was uninjured from the collision.
