Remains pulled from Maumee River after caller reports body

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - The remains of an unidentified man were recovered from the water on the east side of downtown Fort Wayne Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the banks of the Maumee about 8:40 a.m. They located the body near the intersection of Edgewater and Columbia Ave.

They do not suspect foul play.

The Indiana DNR will lead the investigation and an autopsy will determine the identity of the person and cause and manner of death.
