CLEVELAND (FORT WAYNE'S NBC) - Homestead grad Ben Skowronek accomplishes his dream of playing in the NFL.
The Notre Dame wide receiver was selected by the Rams in the 7th round as the No. 249 overall pick.
"It's a dream come true. I've dreamed of being drafted since I can remember. I want the draft probably every single year. When the time was ticking down, I was getting nervous," Skowronek said. "I got selected so it's a dream come true."
Skowronek transferred from Northwestern to Notre Dame for his final year of college football.
He caught five touchdowns with 49 receptions and 439 yards in one season with the Fighting Irish.
He's been on the largest college football stage. Skowronek completed his college career playing in the College Football National Championship Semifinals against Alabama.
He joins Bluffton grad and Western Michigan wide receiver D'wayne Eskridge drafted to the NFL this weekend.
