La Perspectiva Latina: COVID vaccine awareness

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - Disparities remain in the United States in who is receiving the COVID-19 Vaccine.

Gaps still persist between vaccination rates for White people compared to Latino and Black people.

Just to name a few, this disparity is a result of misinformation and lack of confidence in the vaccine.

Fort Wayne is also dealing with the problem. To figure out how the city looks to spread awareness of the vaccine, producer Randy went down to the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation where its their mission to get the word out to our underserved communities.

Meg Distler, Executive Director

Executive Director Meg Distler and program manager/chief storyteller Mary Tyndall talked about their initiative to ease concerns of minorities in getting the shot.

Also, discussing who they are working with to meet their mission they have set.

Plus, they stress the importance of why getting the COVID vaccine is so important.
