Cougars sneak past Stillman College and advance to NAIA elite eight

KANSAS CITY, MO (FORT WAYNE'S NBC) - Saint Francis guard Antwaan Cushingberry scores 28 points, leading the Cougars past Stillman College, 69-67.

The Cougars trailed almost all game, but stayed close by Stillman.

With 1:17 left in the game, Cushingberry takes it to the rack for a layup. This gives Saint Francis a two point advantage to close out the game.

David Ejah was not a fact in the first, but found his rhythm under the hoop in the second half. The Carroll grad finishes with 10 points and six rebounds.

Saint Francis found a way to win.

"Man, we just stuck with it. Our guys grind it out and found a way to get a win. Like I said, I couldn't be more proud of them. The opportunity to play and be in the elite 8 is pretty special for our program," Head Coach Chad LaCross said.

Saint Francis plays the winner of Indiana Wesleyan and Bethel on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the NAIA National Tournament elite eight.
