Indiana reports 963 new COVID-19 cases, 33 additional deaths

INDIANAPOLIS (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — A total of 660,071 Hoosiers have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Indiana Department of Health.

963 new cases of the virus were reported to state health officials on Friday.

33 additional Hoosiers lost their lives to COVID-19, bringing the state's overall death toll to 12,098.

The new data was reported to ISDH within the last 24 hours, but the new cases occurred between Dec. 26 and Feb. 25 while the new deaths occurred between Dec. 22 and Feb. 25.

In Allen County, officials reported 56 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the county's overall case count to 35,806. The overall death toll stands at 632.

The state's seven-day positivity rate for unique individuals is at 11%.

An estimated total of 431,289 Indiana residents have recovered from the virus, according to data from the Regenstrief Institute.

As of today, 963,225 Hoosiers have received a first dose of vaccine, and 531,962 are fully vaccinated.
