FORT WAYNE, Ind. (FORT WAYNE'S NBC) - The United Basketball Alliance hosted a holiday showcase over the weekend.

The event originally scheduled to take place in New York was moved to Indiana because of COVID-19 restrictions.

The showcase featured six games over the holiday weekend with professional level talent.

On Monday, the players and coaches reflect on the impact Martin Luther King Jr. had on their lives.

"It's a day that we celebrate an important part of history," New York Strong player, Matthew Bingaya said. "Learning about the history. It's that same type of resiliency and fight he had when adversity hit. I think it sticks with a lot of people in our culture."

"He spoke for brotherhood and that's what you're seeing here today," UBA Personnel Advisor Bennie Lewis said.
