FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) -- For 92 years Fort Wayne's Embassy Theatre has committed itself to deliver quality performing arts programming to the public. Now, the theatre is asking that same public for help.
The "Raise the Curtain" campaign has a goal to raise $2 million to ensure the Embassy is financially strong and able to present impactful arts experiences for all of northeast Indiana.
According to The Embassy, at least $500,000 is needed to continue regular operations while rescheduling events later into 2020 and early 2021.
For the fiscal year 2019-20, The Embassy estimates a budget loss of more than $1 million. The theater was forced to close to the public for 83 days during the start of the pandemic.
