FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - Small businesses are among those struggling the most during the pandemic, and Small Business Saturday is aimed at supporting owners.

The owners of a store called "House To Home" say they've received an overwhelming amount of support for this start to their holiday season.

Visit Fort Wayne is extending their Small Business Saturday with an ongoing event called Days of Holly Shopping. In order to spread out people because of the pandemic, city officials say they are hosting it every Saturday until Christmas.

Emily Baker and Beth Stutzman are the co-owners of Home To Home, a local store on The Landing.

"Especially in these times we just really need the support so that the money is staying within local and supporting the local businesses," Baker said.

They say as a small business, they don't often have sales especially because of COVID-19. For Small Business Saturday they welcomed in customers as long as they were wearing a mask, social distancing, and under their capacity of 75 people.

"We have been through a lot this year and any support you can give this year buying local really is important and appreciated," Baker said.
