Student found dead in Grace College dorm room

WINONA LAKE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Officials at Grace College say a student was found dead in her residence hall Friday.

In a release sent Friday afternoon, the college said Bethany Nesbitt was discovered around 10 a.m.

It wasn't clear how she died, and an investigation is underway.

"The Grace College family is deeply grieved by Bethany’s death.  Our current focus is on providing care and counsel to her family, friends and classmates. Grace’s Counseling Center staff will be available for students at the prayer meeting and following," the school said in a statement.

"We ask everyone to join us in prayer for the Nesbitt family and friends."

All classes and sporting events are canceled for the rest of the day.

The school is also hosting a campus-wide prayer meeting at 1:30 p.m. outside of the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center.

Grace College indicated they would send updates when additional information is available.
