FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - As of Friday, October 30, Fort Wayne Community Schools will not allow fans in the stands at any athletic and non-athletic event until further notice.
The school corporation took to Twitter to share the news with the FWCS community.
Because of increased spread of COVID-19 in the community, spectators will not be allowed at FWCS events (athletic and non-athletic) beginning tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 30.— FWCS (@FWCommSchools) October 29, 2020
According to school officials, this decision will stay in place while Allen County is in orange or red. If the county goes back to yellow, spectators will be allowed back in the stands.
On Thursday, Allen County was reported to be in the orange section. This means the county has reported 100 to 199 new cases of COVID-19 a week and the positivity rate of cases continues to increase.
FWCS allowed fans and spectators back on school grounds on September 1.
