Allen County K-9 finds suspect after vehicle, foot chase

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - Officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department found a suspect after chasing him on foot and in a car.

Officials with the Allen County Sheriff's Department said they chased a driver beginning at the intersection of Woodburn Road and Sampson Road on Sunday at 2:50 a.m.

Officers said the vehicle pursuit continued to the 10000 block of Maysville Road where the driver left the car and ran off.

Police said they found two passengers who stayed in the car.

They said an Allen County K-9 tracked the suspect who ran off and found him in the 5100 block of Fox Mill Run. They said the suspect was lying in a tree line and refused to comply with officers' commands to show his hands.

Police said they warned the suspect the K-9 would be released, and said the man later decided to comply with officers.

Officials said the suspect, Robert Jaylen Croskey, was arrested with no bond for the following:

  • Resisting by fleeing in a vehicle (Level 6 felony)
  • Resisting physically (Class A misdemeanor)
  • Criminal recklessness (Class B misdemeanor)
  • Possession of marijuana (Class B misdemeanor)
  • Reckless driving (Class A misdemeanor)

Police said the two passengers were released without charges.
