Project Civics and Fort Wayne YMCA team up to help people register to vote

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - Project Civics Fort Wayne and a Fort Wayne YMCA are teaming up to help people register to vote.

Maria Norman, a volunteer with Project Civics Fort Wayne, set up a table at the Renaissance Pointe YMCA in Fort Wayne on Tuesday. The center is located at 2323 Bowser Avenue.

Norman told Fort Wayne's NBC News that she aims to help educate people about the voting process.

Norman helped people register to vote at the Renaissance Pointe YMCA on Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m., and will continue to help on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Management at the YMCA said they will continue to help people register to vote until Friday.

The Renaissance Pointe YMCA is open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Workers at the YMCA are bilingual and can speak English and Spanish.
