FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) — A former church missionary who was found guilty of sexually abusing a young girl in his home has been sentenced.
In court on Friday, Wayne W. Allen, 69, was sentenced to 36 years behind bars.
Allen was found guilty of two counts of child molesting on Aug. 14.
Court documents say a young girl stayed at Allen's home on the northwest side of town twice between April of 2017 and May of 2018.
The girl told investigators that each time, Allen crawled into bed with her and molested her.
Allen has a doctorate from Concordia Theological Seminary and worked for 13 years with World Partners as a missionary to Asia, as well as on staff as a leader and coordinator for missionaries around the world.
