FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - City officials on Friday released their recommended trick-or-treat times for those looking to collect some candy on Halloween in Fort Wayne.

The Fort Wayne Police Department says hours for trick-or-treating will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Officials said they are working with the Allen County Health Department on COVID-19 guidelines so folks can be safe while going door-to-door.

Those details will be released in the coming weeks.

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, which makes it a prime opportunity to celebrate.

But safety concerns persist, and some organizations have altered or canceled their traditional festivities.

Cities are assessing how to proceed with their recommendations on the door-to-door candy collection.
