FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — The City is celebrating Promenade Park's first birthday with the 'River, Set, Go!' event this Saturday.
The newest park in downtown Fort Wayne opened up Aug. 9, 2019, with a three-day celebration featuring concerts and family-fun festivities.
Keeping up with tradition, city officials have planned a free day of activities to celebrate the park's one year anniversary.
The 'River, Set, Go!' event starts at the park, located at 202 W Superior St., at 2 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 8.
It kicks off with some yoga, where yoga instructors will float in the river as folks join in on the amphitheater steps.
Then at 4:30 p.m., attendees with a kayak or canoe can enjoy games on the water.
They'll then have a paddle parade from Guldlin Park to Promenade Park starting at 7 p.m.
You can bring your own kayak or rent one from Fort Wayne Outfitters, but renters are asked to make their reservations at least one day in advance.
The night is set to wrap up with a floating firepit at 9:30.
