FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) -- Tuesday, officials announced the date for this year's Great American Cleanup in Fort Wayne.
Communities, families, churches, youth organizations, schools, businesses, and more will gather September 19.
They'll clean up litter and debris blown into Fort Wayne streets and ditches.
Organizers had already pushed the date back this year, and they say they're determined to make it happen in September.
Frank Suarez with Fort Wayne Public Works says, "Sometimes, unfortunately, it's people who intend to litter. They do throw things out their window sometimes. But a good portion of it is storms blowing away from people. It is important, and it's one of those things that if you wait a year, that debris just piles up even more."
So you know, the after party will not take place this year.
