FORT WAYNE, Ind. (FORT WAYNE'S NBC) - It's not the ice hockey fans are use to in the Fort, but State Wars roller hockey tournament is one of a kind.

Players comes from all over the United States to play in the event held at the Memorial Coliseum this weekend.

Other players, are from right here in Fort Wayne.

Shawn Szydlowski says it's nice to be back on skates.

"Any hockey is good right now, especially playing something competitive. There's a little prize incentive, so it's fun. There's a lot of competition right now. Guys are pretty fierce out there and happy to get back to it. Obviously you can tell with the energy level," he said.

Szydlowski played alongside former Komets player, J.C. Campagna on the Envious Rink Rats team.

"It's been fun getting to play with the old Komets guys. This is like my childhood dream, playing in a big rink like that for a pro team I played for," Campagna said.

The tournament for the pro division ends Sunday evening, but other competition levels carry on at the SportONE Parkview Ice House.
