The Fort Wayne Black Chamber of Commerce to produce a new Black-owned-business directory

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - The Fort Wayne Black Chamber of Commerce is producing a second directory of Black owned businesses and organizations in the area.

The Fort Wayne Black Chamber of Commerce (FWBCC) is a nonprofit business organization providing members a voice, vision, and focused leadership on enhancing the economic vitality and quality of life in their community.

With about 500 Black organizations based out of Fort Wayne, the directory, produced as both a print publication and a digital resource, will feature art by Fort Wayne-native Michael Johnson, owner of ConceptSeven Art Lounge.

"When you support a Black-owned business, you help the business survive and the community thrives. The FWBCC makes finding these businesses easier than ever through a directory."

John Dortch, FWBCC CEO

The FWBCC is also producing a survey to assess areas of collaboration between the project participants to draw a picture of how well Black Fort Wayne works together.

The second directory is expected to be completed by September 1, 2020.
