No TinCaps games for 2020 due to cancelation of Minor League season


ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Officials have formally announced that there will be no Minor League Baseball this season.

The MLB said they will not be providing players to its affiliated Minor League teams, including the Fort Wayne TinCaps, according to a press release.

"These are unprecedented times for our country and our organization as this is the first time in our history that we've had a summer without Minor League Baseball played," Minor League Baseball President & CEO Pat O'Conner said.

"While this is a sad day for many, this announcement removes the uncertainty surrounding the 2020 season and allows our teams to begin planning for an exciting 2021 season of affordable family entertainment."

The MLB and MiLB both pushed back the start of their seasons in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
