FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) -- Fort Wayne's NBC evening anchor Tom Powell conducted Facebook live reports much of the evening Friday in the area along Clinton Street and the Allen County Courthouse.

That's where a planned peaceful protest against the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis turned violent in the streets of Fort Wayne.

He covered the events from the first time a heavy police presence launched the first tear gas canisters to protesters damaging several downtown businesses and buildings to officers clashing with some people in the crowd.

Here is the first portion of Fort Wayne's NBC News at 11 Friday night.
