Fort Wayne’s NBC nominated for three Emmy Awards


FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - Three entries representing Fort Wayne's NBC have been nominated in the 51st Annual Lower Great Lakes Emmy competition, organizers announced on Monday.

The nominated entries include a report by meteorologist Jon Wilson and producer Luke Secaur on the role of the weather in the Indianapolis 500; a segment by anchor Tom Powell on the destructive tornadoes that ravaged northwestern Ohio in spring 2019; and a 30-minute program produced and anchored by Powell that spotlighted the plight of Syrian refugees and the work being done by two Fort Wayne residents to help them.

The Lower Great Lakes Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences coordinates the regional competition.

Winners will be announced in June.
