DeKalb grad Leigha Brown announced she will be transferring from Nebraska to Michigan on Sunday night, via Twitter.

Following a decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal on Thursday, Brown wasted little time in choosing the school she felt perfect for her.

"I knew at Michigan that's where I wanted to be so I didn't see a point in entertaining other schools," Brown said via ZOOM on Monday afternoon.

Brown won Big Ten Sixth Player of the Year her sophomore season with the Cornhuskers, averaging 14 points per game.

The 6-foot-1 forward is excited to be a bit closer to home for her junior year.

"Family has always been a really important part of me," Brown said.

"High school, all of my family came supported my games, so it's definitely going to be a big factor."
