FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - Family and friends identified a woman who died in a triple shooting.

Police responded to the 2400 block of Barnhart Avenue in Fort Wayne early Wednesday morning.

Police said they discovered three people inside a house.

Officers said one man died at the scene, another person was in critical condition and paramedics rushed a woman to a hospital where she later died.

Officers arrested three men in connection with the shooting early Wednesday evening.

Kyaw Hlang, 22, Kerwins Louis, 20, and Jamesley Paul, 23, were arrested at different locations without incident.

Fort Wayne's NBC talked with two women who said they were close friends with Brooke Wendel. They said she was one of the victims.

"She was so young," said Carly Miller, a friend of a victim. "She had so much she was looking forward to. She didn't have a chance to be a mom."

Another friend said Wendel had a big heart and was full of life.

"Nothing they (people arrested) will do behind bars will ever compare to the pain that they're causing to other people that will be suffering day to day for their senseless crime," said Olivia Turner, a friend of a victim.

"She really impacted my life and she was a great person," said Miller. "I wish I could hug her and tell her I love her one more time."

A family member created a GoFundme to help cover Wendel's funeral expenses. If you'd like to help, please click here.
