Helicopter crash leaves pilot in critical condition

WABASH COUNTY, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - A helicopter crash left one pilot in critical condition.

Officers with the Wabash County Sheriff's Office said first responders responded near State Highway 114 on Sunday evening.

Officials said a call about the crash came in around 6:13 P.M.

Sheriff Ryan Baker said a helicopter crashed in a field about 1.5 miles from North Manchester.

Baker said the emergency crews flew the pilot to Parkview Hospital to be treated.

Officers with the Sheriff's Office said they do not know what caused the helicopter to crash.

Officials said FAA investigators will examine the crash site on Monday morning.
