A Fort Wayne man pleads guilty to fatal shooting back in October

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - A Fort Wayne man has pleaded guilty to a deadly shooting that happened on Runnion Avenue back in October.

Jermaine Turner, 40, pleaded guilty to one count of murder which calls for 55 years.

Court documents say out of the 55 years, 50 of them will be spent behind bars and 5 will be suspended.

He was initially facing murder, possession of a handgun by a serious violent felon, and possession of a controlled substance in connection to the shooting death of Pablo Vasquez.

Fort Wayne’s NBC previously reported that the shooting happened around 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13 in the 600 block of Runnion Ave.

His sentencing is set for March 19.
