FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – No place in Fort Wayne offers the opportunity to dine under the sea or camp in a woodland cottage-theme like the Lucky Turtle Grill & Lucky Moose Lounge.
The restaurant (located on 622 East Dupon Road) was originally built in 2002 as a Munchie Emporium. It became Lucky’s Terrapin grill in 2004, and Lucky Turtle & Lucky Moose in 2009.
Owner Mark Melchi has a personal restaurant history spanning 40 years, beginning in 1980 at the Taylor St. Munchie. Melchi continued with four Munchie locations and other restaurants dabbling in seafood, barbecue, Cajun and German cuisine.
Melchi says Lucky’s eclectic menu and décor is a blend of all his past experiences.
"We've been collecting stuff for 40 years so there's plenty to look at," says Melchi.
"We've kept a large menu and a big variety. We're strong on seafood but still there's very little that you can't find on your menu."
With extensive menus, eclectic designs and even some hidden humor surrounding Lucky Turtle Grill & Lucky Moose Lounge, visitors are sure to enjoy.
