FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - Ahead of their February visit to the Memorial Coliseum, a member of the Harlem Globetrotters surprised some elementary school students during an assembly Wednesday.

Briana "Hoops" Green showed off her skills on the court for students at Irwin Elementary School to promote her team's stop next month.

Green is a member of the famous Harlem Globetrotters, a basketball entertainment troupe that travels the world.

She also wanted to share an important message for kids called, "TEAM Up."

"I'm going there to encourage kids to speak up if they have a problem going on at home or school," Green said.

"You know, just encourage them to talk to somebody. Maybe a peer, a friend, a teacher, just let them know that they're not alone."

"TEAM UP" stands for Talk, Empathy, Ask Questions, and Mobilize.

Green made it a point for kids to reach out to a trusted friend or adult if they encounter a problem.

The Harlem Globetrotters "Pushing the Limits" 2020 Tour hits the Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m.
