1 killed, 2 injured in interstate crash in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) -- UPDATE:

As of 10:20 p.m, all lanes northbound on I-69 are now open.

Police say the crash happened when the driver of the car lost control exiting I-469 on to I-69 northbound.


Traffic was diverted after a fatal crash happened Thursday night around 7:45 in the area of the northbound lanes of I-69 near Dupont Road on the city's north side.

Fort Wayne police confirm with Fort Wayne's NBC News that 1 person died in the single car crash. A second victim is reported in serious condition, and a third victim is reported in good condition.

As of 8:15 p.m. Thursday night, all northbound lanes of I-69 in the Dupont Road area were closed with traffic being diverted to I-469.

Crews are working to try and open at least one northbound lane as quickly as possible.

No names of victims have yet been released.
