Hoosier lawmakers respond to Iranian missile attack on U.S. bases in Iraq

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) -- Hoosier lawmakers were quick to take to Twitter Tuesday night after word of the Iranian missile attack on U.S. bases in Iraq.

Third District Congressman, Republican Jim Banks, tweeted, "Please join me in praying for the safety and security of our troops deployed in Iraq and the nearby region. I have full confidence in our president and the U.S. military, the greatest fighting force in the world."

In response to a tweet from Nancy Pelosi… in which the house speaker called for an end to provocation from the White House… Banks later tweeted, "It's clear now: Iran's strongest allies are Russia, China and Nancy Pelosi."

U.S. Senator from Indiana, Republican Toddy Young, tweeted, " I’m praying for our troops in Iraq. May God be with them and their families."

And, former South Bend mayor and Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg tweeted, "Tonight, Americans in Iraq are under fire. My prayers are with them, their loved ones, and their families."
