Cedar Point shares 150th-anniversary plans for 2020

Sandusky, Ohio (Fort Wayne's NBC) - On Wednesday, Cedar Point announced new plans for its 150th anniversary season in 2020.

From 1870 to 2020, Cedar Point is a 364-acre amusement park located on a Lake Erie peninsula in Sandusky, Ohio.

The park is the second-oldest operating amusement park in the United States which has become the backdrop to so many different family memories.

In honor of 150 years being open, Cedar Point decided to make an announcement to the public via a YouTube live video for all of the coaster lovers to see.

Some of the new family fun coming next year includes new and improved restaurants, 150th exclusive merchandise, building renovations and much more.

A new exclusive ticket will be available for guests to win come February.

Guests can enter for a chance to win a Ticket of a Lifetime that affords them free admission to Cedar Point for their rest of their lives.

There is a catch though because Cedar Point will only be choosing 150 people throughout 2020.

Each winner can enjoy this ticket with three select family or friends for a total of four Tickets of a Lifetime per winner.

In addition, many coaster goers were looking forward to a new coaster next year, but the park decided to go in a different direction.

Come 2020, a new water ride will be in place. The Snake River Expedition will be a family-friendly ride water boat ride involving dancers, holograms and much more.

Cedar Point's opening day is set for May 9, 2020.
