Fort Wayne, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - Giving back and shopping until you drop; some Fort Wayne businesses are giving shoppers to help those in need.

On Friday, Dec. 6, some businesses in Covington Plaza are donating their proceeds from all purchases to Matthew 25 in Fort Wayne.

The money will go towards patient care for low-income and uninsured adults.

"The majority of our patients are working. They may be under-employed or they're maybe working multiple part-time jobs, so you can't get that plan insurance through your employer," Emily Almodovar, of Matthew 25 said.

"So we are keeping those people healthy so they say stay going to their job, getting up and taking care of their families."

Other businesses involved include Taj Mahal, Merle Norman, the Olive Twist, Susan's Fashions, Christopher James Menware and the Ski Pole.
