Christmas tree dropbox stolen from LaOtto Volunteer Fire Department

LAOTTO, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) –  The Noble County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a case of “sour Christmas spirit” after a dropbox from the LaOtto Volunteer Fire Department was reported stolen.

The dropbox funds were going towards Christmas trees for the LaOtto community.

According to the fire department’s facebook page, not only did the thief steal money from a volunteer organization, they also stole from the LaOtto community as a whole.

Department officials say they are seeking the public’s help to catch the thief and are combing through any surveillance video that they say might have captured the event.

Other accommodations for people buying trees until a new dropbox can be installed.
