Turkey Rally returns Thursday to help change lives

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – With Thanksgiving coming up in a little over a week, the Turkey Rally returns with bigger expectations than last year.

This rally is a full day committed to collecting and donated frozen turkeys and traditional holiday food items to the Community Harvest Food Bank.

This event is in collaboration with Kroger and Fort Wayne’s NBC.

As the holiday approaches, it is time to establish a friendly competition with your friends, family, and school to see who can donate the most.

Things that we are looking for:

When you shop at three different Fort Wayne Kroger locations, please consider picking up “one extra” for a family in need. Employees, volunteers, and even a couple of our team members will be available from 6 a.m.- 8 p.m. to accept donations at these locations:

If you can’t make it out on Thursday, organizers say there are other options!

“Again, if you can’t come to the Kroger location it’s easy. You can visit our website and make a monetary donation and we will go ahead and use our purchasing power and we will amp that up and whatever we don’t get through our turkey rally we will purchase and insure that it gets distributed to somebody in need.”
