FORT WAYNE, Ind. (FORT WAYNE’S NBC) – There are so many kids in our community in desperate need of a loving home.
November is National Adoption Month, and Indiana child and family nonprofit “Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth” (SAFY) is working to raise awareness about the need for finding forever homes for children in foster care who are eligible for adoption.
Fort Wayne father Jeff Crawford has been a foster parent for more than 5 years and is in the process of adopting two kids.
He says treating every child the same and doing activities as a family, like vacation, dinner and sporting events, helps foster children better assimilate into their new environment.
