More than 300 runners participate in 25th Annual Fort Wayne Turkey Trot race

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – More than 300 people participated in the 25th Annual Fort Wayne Turkey Trot race.

Organizers said more than 300 people participated in the 5K race on Saturday morning. Event leaders said this year’s attendance broke the record as the race brought in more people than it has in the past 25 years.

Toddlers also had a chance to compete and run in the 15,000 centimeter race.

Officials with the race said part of the proceeds from the event will go to Fox Island County Park to help park officials maintain the park.

Leaders of the event said a dinner plate was awarded to the following winners:

Organizers said runners who placed 1st – 3rd in their respective age brackets (see below) received a pie.

The event was located at Fox Island County Park in Fort Wayne. The race began at 10 A.M.
