Fort Wayne Police make arrest in September homicide

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Fort Wayne Police announced an arrest in a September homicide case.

Jaylin Robinson was found shot to death outside Dan’s Broadway Grill on Sept. 28, 2019.

At the beginning of the month, police put out two surveillance photos linked to the crime in hopes of finding out more.

On Tuesday, Fort Wayne Police announced a break in the case.

Michael Anderson Jr., 22, is now facing a murder charge in the shooting death of 23-year-old Jaylin Robinson outside the Broadway Grill last month.

Anderson Jr. was already behind bars for an outstanding warrant for a parole violation.

Just before midnight, several people called Fort Wayne Police dispatch to report gunshots heard near the bar.

Someone who called 911 to report those gunshots found a man down on the ground in a rear parking lot in the area.

Police and medics showed up to the scene a short while later and discovered the man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

He died at the scene. His death marked the 20th homicide in Allen County so far this year.
