Fright Night kicks off Halloween in the Fort

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC)- The city’s 12th annual Fright Night took place downtown Saturday.

The event featured live music, food trucks and games for the whole family to enjoy. Multiple downtown businesses took part in the festivities, offering a number of deals to the public.

James and Maxima Fitzgerald came to the fest with their whole family and said this is a great event for the whole community.

“I think it’s a great idea, the more stuff like this the better and brings the community together for sure,” James said.

Rick Zolman, a member of the Downtown Improvement District said the event is a great way to start the Halloween season downtown.

“We will literally see babies that are dressed as zombies and great-grandparents dressed as zombies so to just have folks come down, enjoy a great day in October when it’s 65 degrees and see the momentum that’s down here is really a cool thing,” Zolman said.

There was a brain cake eating contest, photo booth and the annual zombie walk. The parade makes its way through downtown. Here is a full list of events.
