Northern Wells Community Schools bus involved in a crash Wednesday

DECATUR, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – A vehicle crash happened this morning involving a Northern Wells School bus in Decatur.

According to the Decatur Police Department, the crash happened around 9:05 a.m. at the intersection of US 224 W and US 27/33 N, also known as 13th Street and Nuttman Ave.

Police say the vehicles involved in the accident were a school bus filled with high schoolers and a vehicle occupied by one driver.

The students and the bus driver had no major life-threatening injuries, but due to school protocols, all of them had to be transported to a nearby hospital for assessments and treatment if need be.

The driver was also transported for medical treatment, but the extent of their injuries is not clear at this time.

The crash is still under investigation.
