FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – A new development looks to bring apartments, office space and retail space next to Promenade Park.
Mayor Tom Henry announced that Indianapolis-based Barrett and Stokely was chosen for a project on the northeast corner of Harrison and Superior.
The $70 million investment will bring 225 apartments, a 900-space parking garage, approximately 30,000 square feet of office space and nearly 15,000 square feet of retail space to the area east of Promenade Park.
Mayor Henry said the announcement continues to bring positive investment into the community.
“Having additional housing, retail, and parking options will further strengthen Fort Wayne’s position as a point of destination for job growth, new private investment opportunities, and unique amenities that emphasize the importance of the live, work, and play model,” Mayor Henry said.
The developer is also working with the City on The Lofts at Headwaters Park. The riverfront project will now move to create an economic development agreement between the developer and the City.
If approved, construction of the project is anticipated to begin in late 2019 or early 2020 and will take a year and a half to complete.
