FBI seeking help locating person of interest in Gary woman’s death

Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — The FBI is looking for the public’s help locating a person of interest in the death of a Gary woman.

Investigators say they are looking for 38-year-old James McGhee, from Gary. They say McGhee is a person of interest who is wanted for questioning in the death of 27-year-old Sidne-Nichole Buchanan.

Buchanan was reported missing on July 29, and police say McGhee was the last person Buchanan was known to be with at a concert on July 27 in Tinley Park, IL.

Police describe McGhee as being 5’9″, around 235 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair. McGhee is known to frequent Gary, IN; Hammond, IN; and Chicago, IL.

Officers say they located a body in a nature preserve in Illinois on Monday that is believed to be Buchanan, but they are awaiting a positive ID from the Cook County medical examiner.

The FBI said they are offering up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to McGhee’s location.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 219-942-4655. They say tips can remain anonymous.
