Family announces sale of ‘Friends, Too’ restaurant

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – UPDATE: The owners of Joanna’s Family Restaurant tells Fort Wayne’s NBC they finalized the purchase on the restaurant Thursday.

PREVIOUS: The family that owns the “Friends, Too” restaurant in southwest Fort Wayne says it will be selling the establishment.

In a post to the restaurant’s Facebook page, the family calls the decision “exciting, albeit bittersweet.” It comes about half-a-year after the passing of Nikos Hatzigeorgiou, who served in a primary operational role for the popular Greek dining spot.

Hatzigeorgiou opened the restaurant with his late wife, Ana, who passed in 2017.

His children posted the announcement of the pending closure, noting that they are seeking  “another family looking to expand their business and create & grow their own community in Fort Wayne.”
