House with kids inside targeted in drive-by shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Police say a woman was inside her home with her three children when someone fired shots at the house.

The Fort Wayne Police Department said on Saturday, June 22, they were told shots were fired in the 2800 block of Broadripple Drive around 8 p.m.

Police arrived and spoke with the homeowner who said she was inside with her three daughters when someone began shooting at the home.

She said she heard the shots traveling through the home and told her kids to get down on the floor. Luckily, no one was injured.

Officers found shell casings and numerous bullet holes in the front of the home. They also found bullet holes inside the home as some bullets ricocheted.

A neighbor told police he saw an older model of a silver Ford Escape with three people inside speed off down Broadripple Drive.
