Mayoral candidate released after being arrested for criminal mischief

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Police confirm that Democratic primary mayoral candidate Tommy Schrader was arrest tonight.

Police confirm he was arrested for criminal mischief.

He was released and promised to return for a later court hearing

Fort Wayne’s NBC spoke with employees at Jeff’s Coney who say they are the ones who called police.

Employees at Jeff’s Coney say they observed Schrader walking back and forth in front of their business holding a purple teddy bear.

They say someone came into the store and said they saw Schrader vandalizing the benches outside their business with obscenities and symbols of hate.

A Fort Wayne’s NBC crew saw the vandalism after the fact.

Jeff’s Coney is located next to the Kroger on E State Blvd.
