Fort Wayne’s NBC honored with Regional Murrow Award

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – A Fort Wayne’s NBC special presentation has earned a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for excellence in journalism.

In an announcement on Tuesday, the Radio Television Digital News Association named the channel a recipient in the category of Documentary.

The winning entry, “Precious Forever,” shares the story of a local photographer and her extraordinary work with the families of developmentally challenged infants.

As the regional winner, it is now under consideration in the National Murrow Award competition.

“Our thanks go out to Angela Forker and to all the families who allowed us to share their struggles and their victories with viewers across northeast Indiana and northwestern Ohio,” said Jonathan Shelley, News Director for Fort Wayne’s NBC.

The Murrow Awards were introduced in 1971 to honor broadcast organizations that embody the values, principles and standards set forth by Edward R. Murrow, a journalism pioneer who established the benchmarks for the highest quality of broadcast journalism.

The winners in the national competition will be announced in June.
